CPR Done, All tickets done!

We had the CPR course tonight, and 7 adults got certified and 7 scouts got to learn how to do CPR and use and AED. We had a wonderful instructor from Danbury Hospital give the course, and he kept it light an fun for the boys, and they were having a great time learning what to do. I certainly should have done this sooner. We're going to have to repeat this for the rest of the scouts that missed it, but they'll enjoy as well. Let's hope we'll never need to use it.

CPR Classes are Scheduled!   

   My Last ticket item is finally scheduled.   We'll be doing the CPR class on June 7th, and if all goes well, many of the Adult leaders and staff will be CPR certified, and the scouts will get lessons on how to give CPR and use a AED ( all of which is part of First Aid Merit badge).   I for one am looking forward to getting certified.

Aside from things that did not get loaded into the box, it went well.

Patrol box COMPLETE.   I presented the patrol box to the troop today, and we'll be using it for camping this weekend.  I am currently in the process of completing the documentation ( the print is done) and I'll be handling it over to the Troop as well.  Pictures of the patrol box are attached.  Note the name of the box, for those who may be reading this that was not on my wood badge course, we were encouraged to "leave a Legacy".   I'm leaving one behind.

Scout Guide TICKET COMPLETE:  Scout guide is completed, we'll be handing it out in the Open house we're having on March 25nd.  I'll be posting a link once I convert the document to PDF

It stands!

Patrol box is coming along, it now stands! Just have to get some Formica on the surfaces, and finish the outside. Be done with this ticket soon!

I have Started the Scout guide, and have jotted a few items down ( 2 pages or so) in a Word document.  We have an open house for the Troop for incoming Webelos on March 25th and I hope to have it completed by that point.

patrol boxes coming along

There has been some cutting errors but we're in process,  however the three of  us are doing the boxes  independently.  We can't find time to get together to do it, so we'll do it with the same set of plans. It will be interesting to see how it different the 3 boxes turn out.

Designs of Patrol boxes

Designing patrol boxes has been interesting work.
E.B. and I have been going back and forth looking at designs.

We come up with a design and then take a look at how much it weighs and figure out about changing it again.  We finally decided to go with an existing design, as it fits all of our items that we want it to go into it.   We;re going to do a hybrid of these 2 designs.  This Carcass for the box.

We're going to size how much materials we need for the boxes and get to Hardware stores to ask for donations.  Were looking right now to build all 3 of the wood badge ticket patrol boxes together.  We'll see how it goes.

We'll compile a set of drawings to archive in case more are needed int he future.

Working on CPR classes

I have started to look into the CPR classes and Certification.  Thru the help of our Scoutmaster, we've been offered a chance to part of the training online, and then in person for the total certification.  I found out that the online portion is going to cost $22 per person.  I have contacted the website to see if I could get a Group or Scout discount.   I have also contacted the www.cprdave.com site to see what pricing they might offer as well.  I am not sure what I am going to do for the funding, let's hope I get some good discounts!

Website Ticket COMPLETE

We now officially exist on BOTH the BeAScout and Scatacook websites.  The BeAScout registration is now completed

If anyone out there is having difficulty in figuring out how to do this, I'll see if I can attach instructions for getting a site/contact listed on BeAScout.org. that we used.
